Study Information

The Healthy Brain and Child Development National Consortium is a collaboration amongst 24 sites in the United States. Leading researchers in the fields of child development and neuroscience will work with participating families and their children to understand how the brain develops and is affected by exposure to substances and other environmental, social, and biological factors during pregnancy and after birth. What we learn from this research will have lasting impacts on future generations of children.

The study will collect information beginning in pregnancy and continue to follow birth parents and their babies through early childhood including anthropometrics (growth measures); medical and family history; biospecimens; and social, emotional, and cognitive function. Measures of brain activity are also done to observe how babies brains grow and develop.

We are recruiting pregnant women for this study, who will be compensated for their time and effort. If you are interested in participating, please email hbcd@psu.edu or text: 814-826-1422
